Welcome to Adventurer Home blog.  It’s my story about making an outdated home into the vision my wife and I have for it.  A home with good bones in a wonderful location that’s asking to be updated.

I’m a serial home remodel/renovation guy who likes this stuff.  Have been doing it for 45 years and this is my 5th home in the series.  I spent most of my career in technology in the IT and security world but also exposed to CRM/social media.  I finished my career as a general contractor, but the social media career prior to my new life was really helpful at transitioning into construction.  I got construction jobs using a website so understand a bit of that world.

There have been many people who have helped me navigate through the construction  world, but most important to note that my wife of many years has been intimately involved in all these projects.  She adds dimension and insights that make them better than I could ever do myself and I appreciate that she can deal with me and make them projects that have our stamp on them.  They have been well received in large part because of her contributions.

So I’m a tech guy who dabbled in construction for years before committing to it.  I became a general contractor the last 5 years of my career, and was fortunate to be attracted to other construction folks who were good, and willing to mentor me and share their knowledge.  I’m grateful to all of them.

The Adventurer Project is the next phase of my construction life.  I’ve learned a lot about this world and look forward to making this project come to life.
